The Old School in Beechmont has been converted into the Beechmont Community Centre. The headmasters Cottage now features the Headmasters Café for residents and visitors with fresh coffee, good food and free WiFi. A retreat when the house gets too busy or when you need a quite place to do your emails.

The Headmasters Cafe is located in the old headmasters residence at the original Beechmont school site. Surrounded by views over Springbrook, the Numinbah Valley and Mt Warning, the café is a great spot to stop and enjoy a relaxing brew.

Travelling from Nerang along Beechmont Road weaving past the spectacular vistas, you will come across Rosins Lookout, a favour launch point for Hang gliders and Parasailers.

To complete the loop you can come up from Canungra and enjoy the Killarney Glen walk and take advantage of the swimming holes there, right along side the army base.

The Headmasters Cafe was built in the 1930’s and was used up until the school was moved a kilometre down the road to Graceleigh.

These days, this pretty village is a popular destination for bushwalkers who travel through the town enroute to the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. It’s also a popular place for hangliders and paragliders who are enamoured with the popular launch pad at Rosin’s Lookout. Because of its small population, Beechmont exudes the kind of country charm that should be bottled with its old-style community hall and country markets. Stay overnight in an old church or at an educational farm stay. Enjoy local wildlife, Graceleigh Park and most of all, the views and walking options of the nearby mountains and rainforest. The local Yugambeh people loved this area, 45 minutes and a world away from the Gold Coast beaches, and you will too.
